Purpose-Built FAA A&P Review Environment

Explore the AMT Schools facility in Newport News, Virginia, where focused FAA A&P exam review is supported by practical lab resources, hands-on equipment, and an efficient setup designed to help candidates leverage existing aviation maintenance experience toward exam success.

Training Overview

Built for Practical Preparation

AMT Schools provides a professional environment for aviation maintenance candidates who want to turn existing experience into a recognized FAA credential. Our facility is organized to support practical reinforcement, structured review, and hands-on familiarity with the systems and components candidates are expected to understand.

This is not primary maintenance instruction or Part 147 training. Instead, the facility supports exam preparation by giving candidates a place to strengthen applied knowledge, review procedures, and work through key concepts with experienced guidance as they pursue the written, oral, and practical portions of the FAA A&P process.

Hands-On Resources

Aircraft and Lab Experience

Candidates benefit from access to equipment and spaces that help connect existing aviation maintenance experience to FAA expectations in a concrete, practical way.

Beech 35 Training Aircraft

Our primary training platform is a Beech 35 (V-Tail Bonanza). It gives candidates an opportunity to connect systems knowledge with real aircraft structure and components through focused hands-on review.

This aircraft supports practical examples involving inspection points, control systems, hardware identification, access panels, and maintenance discussion tied to oral and practical exam expectations.

  • Weight and balance review
  • Electrical system troubleshooting
  • Propeller inspection and minor repair discussion
  • Landing gear and brake service review
  • Corrosion identification and treatment concepts
  • Engine inspection procedures

Note: The Beech 35 is non-operational, but it remains an excellent platform for reviewing systems, inspection procedures, and maintenance-related tasks.

Engine Lab

Engine & Systems Labs
